Nulli Expugnabilis Hosti "No Enemy Shall Expel Us"

I should explain my main picture. You may recognize it from Prudential Insurance Company. This is the Rock of Gibraltar, from the Mediterranean Sea. I took this photo after a deployment to the Gulf of Oman. We transited from Norfolk Navel Station to Cape Town, South Africa, though the Mozambique Channel to the Middle East where we took part in Operation Enduring Freedom.

Going this route was a privilege. Sailors had to travel this way before the Suez Canal was constructed to reach India and Asia. I have been though the Suez twice. Once during this deployment, and once before during Iraqi Freedom in 2006. This is the only time I was topside on the USS Theodore Roosevelt during the transit of the Straight of Gibraltar.

Steelcase Pyramid

I see this everyday, but for everyone who doesn't, it's Steelcase's reaseach and development center. One of the only modern Pyramids in the US next to the Luxor Hotel.
